Ontario Food Terminal

The Ontario Food Terminal (OFT) is a 40-acre site housing Canada’s leading fresh fruit and vegetable wholesale market. In addition to produce, you’ll find select bulk foods, flowers and plants. By volume of produce distributed, the OFT is the largest wholesale produce market in Canada, and the only one in North America to accommodate farmers on-site.

The OFT is occupied by the warehouse wholesaler tenants that supply imported and local products. It also houses more than 400 tenants in the Farmers’ Market that sell locally sourced products.

The Ontario Food Terminal, or the Market, as it’s referred to by those who shop here, has 5000 customers from across Ontario, Québec and as far east as Newfoundland and Labrador. These businesses run the gamut—from independent green grocers, to restaurants, to florists and to landscapers. The Market also supplies food distributors that deliver fresh produce to hospitals, universities, schools, hotels and entertainment venues, among many others.

The Toronto Wholesale Produce Association represents the common interests of the 21 wholesaler tenants that drive most of the business at the Market. Working with on-site local farmers for more than 60 years, the TWPA has generated a vibrant business community whose positive influence reaches well beyond the Market walls. By providing an array of imported and local produce, TWPA members make it possible for small and mid-size businesses to thrive.
